Foodie Penpal

This month I participated in a Foodie Penpal exchange. What is that you ask? Just as exciting as it sounds! Lindsay over at the Lean Green Bean blog organized it monthly. You sign up to participate & are matched with another blogger or reader to send a box of food itemswith a price limit of $15 by the 15th of the month. You contact them via email for their address & food preferences. The person you send to & receive from are different.

Funny story, my box showed up post marked from Bonney Lake, WA about 40 minutes from my house. I have family there & was wondering what they might be sending me. Turned out my penpal was local!

She did a great job sending unique items I haven't yet tried. She took a trip to Seattle & Metropolitan Market which I have only visited once.

Here are my goods: chocolates from Woodland Park Zoo, black truffle sea salt (which was amazing on some roasted veggies), granola bites, some amazing Cinnamon Orange tea, local punpkin seeds, a Brita bottle & a CD of yoga music.

Unfortunatlely the chocolates & granola bites contained dairy so I passed them on to my husband who didn't mind :) I have been munching on the pumpkin seeds as snacks but I think my favorite is the tea. I have been searching for a tea I could drink without adding sweetener & this is perfect.

To see what I sent across the country to Shupa Girl, check out her post here.

  1. Jenelle- We need to do a Pike Place Mkt day.... that tea is from a tea shop there that I LOVE. Plus, you can show me all of the strange veggies and fruits that I have no idea what to do with. And how to prepare them. :)
