Homemade Peanut Butter

A few weeks ago I made homemade peanut butter for the first time. I will NEVER buy store bought again! The ingredients list on Jif natural creamy peanut butter reads: peanuts, sugar, palm oil, salt & molasses. My homemade version contains: peanuts. I like my ingredients list much better. I do not need the added salt, sugar & definitely not the extra oil.

Plus this is probably the easiest recipe I will ever share. It takes only minutes to make & stays smooth without separation of the oil. You'll want to keep it in the fridge. It does firm up when cold, so you may want to heat it a few seconds or pull it out of the fridge a half hour before use.

Ready??

Ingredients: 3 cups peanuts of choice, approx 10-12oz (I use roasted unsalted purchased from the bulk bins for under $4 per pound)

Instructions: Place nuts in food processor. Blend until smooth. That's it!

It takes about 4 minutes in mine. This may take longer depending on your machine. You may also need to stop part way through & scrape down the sides with a spatula. The peanuts will become crumbles, then butter as the oils release.

Final product. Yum!
