Holiday Gift Guide Day 1 - Beauty & Fashion

I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet! I wanted to get these gift guides up before small business Saturday (which follows Black Friday), as I will be featuring some of my favorite small companies. Whether you have a vegan or eco-concious recipient on your gift list this year or not, these gift ideas will please anyone, with the added bonus of being kind to the animals. The next 3 days will feature gift ideas in categories of Beauty & Fashion, Food & Functional and Charitable & Experience gifts.

Beauty & Fashion Gifts

1. Bare Bones Body Care.

I am not sure what attracts me to theses products more, the packaging labels, or the scaled down ingredients list. You'll find toner, moisturizer, cleanser & lip balms. The tag line reads, "Ingredients you need. Nothing more, nothing less. No toxins, no animal products, tested only on humans"

2. Rockeresque Beauty Company

"Vegan cosmetics with an edge." Choose from dozens of highly pigmented loose eye shadows & glitters with names like     They can be used wet or dry. Mix any color with clear lip gloss for a punky unique lip color. Shown here is the Mermaid Makeup set.

3. Fashion finds on etsy.com

If you're not familiar with etsy, you need to be. It is a site for independent crafters & artists to sell their products, as well as vintage items. You can find items in any price range & always unique. My favorite fashion finds this year are this studded clutch for $34 & all of the reasonably priced jewelry on the TwiceCreations page, made from recycled materials. Who knew you could make beautiful earrings from milk jugs?

4. Local spotlight: Booda Butter

A combination of organic shea butter, organic cocoa butter & organic plant derived oils, this moisturizer is amazing. Use it on hands, lips, as a hair treatment, or check out the list of 50 uses on their website. This was recommended to me by my tattoo artist as an alternative to A&D during the healing process. I picked up a small tin at Central Market & couldn't be more pleased. Added bonus, the company is local in Bellingham WA. Buy online, locally at PCC, Central Market & Marlene's or check out the Where to But link to find which stores carry their products in your state.
